Our Vision

To contribute to the development and application of environmental, climate and natural resource economics as a science in Africa.

History

UAENRE was initiated in 2016 by the alumni of the faculty of Natural Resource Economics at Busitema University, after the government of Uganda launched the BSc. Natural Resource Economics at the University in 2010 with an aim of promoting the sustainable valuation, exploitation and use of  natural resources in Uganda and East Africa.

In 2021 the association was fully registered for its operation and embarked on its aim of promoting and strengthening the profession of environmental and natural resource economists in Uganda.

Membership is open to individuals who by their profession, training and/or function are involved in environmental, climate and resource economics as a science, and to institutions operating in fields connected with the aims of the Association.
